Multi-modal logistics company Maritime Transport has opened the first transport depot at DP World London Gateway.
The depot is a three-acre site that will be able to house 60 different trucks and trailers that are used for logistics and supply purposes, reports Logistics Manager.
Featuring six deep-water berths, the transport depot has an excellent proximity to London for the delivery of goods.
Simon Smart, managing director of container transfer for Maritime Transport, said: "The decision to open at DP World London Gateway complements our network growth plans.
"The developments at London Gateway continue to impress and have added another UK port option for our customers."
He added that it was important for the company to have a large presence at the dock, due to its format as a multi-port operator.
Maritime Transport also recently purchased a truckstop in Alconbury, which also hopes to improve the company's logistics support.
