Plans for this year’s European Supply Chain Day are now taking shape and this year’s event is set to bigger and better with events taking place up and down the UK as well as throughout Europe on Thursday 21st April.
The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport is the primary contact for all events taking place here in the UK and is pleased to announce a programme of events including workshops, open days, lectures and seminars as well as online engagement including live Twitter Q&As with leading industry professionals.
European Supply Chain Day is a unique and exciting opportunity to raise awareness of the logistics and supply chain profession. Last year, over 38,500 participants visited more than 450 events in at least 20 different countries and this year is already shaping up to be bigger and better.
Organisations who have pledged their support for the day include: CEVA Logistics, City of Glasgow College, Novus Trust, Kuehne + Nagel, Gartner, XPO Logistics, DHL, John Lewis and many leading organisations in the logistics and supply chain profession.
Jim Hardisty, Managing Director, Goplasticpallets.com, said: ‘We decided to support European Supply Chain Day this year to help raise awareness of the logistics and supply chain profession, which in my opinion deserves a lot more recognition. We’ve chosen to create an Infographic to demonstrate the cost savings that logistics professionals can achieve by switching from one-trip packaging to returnable transit packaging. We’ll also be publishing a blog on www.goplasticpallets.com and www.palletevolution.com about the other significant savings that can be achieved by making the switch.’
Nick Caesari, Managing Director, Fleet Source, said: ‘This is first time we have supported European Supply Chain Day by organising our own event and we are thrilled that the Corporation of City of London have partnered us to deliver this informative and interesting program. It will be a great opportunity to raise awareness of the logistics and supply chain profession. So with only 3 weeks to go until this unique event, make sure you register your place today!’
