Centrebus, the East Midlands and Northern Home Counties bus operator, has added OmniMAP to complement its existing Omnibus scheduling software package.
OmniMAP is a powerful tool for planning, displaying and editing bus services and stops. The software links with OmniTIMES to import and export route data and enables the user to fill in bus stops between timing points and calculate mileage and timings.
Using OmniMAP, bus stop locations are imported directly from NaPTAN and stop points can be moved, added, changed and removed. This information, together with geographical information and preferred names, can be sent with the OmniTIMES route data to third parties such as Real Time Systems and ticket machines.
Centrebus, which runs over 200 buses, is also using OmniMAP to improve its on-line publicity information for passengers and to more accurately record route mileages for new tenders and BSOG claims.
Matt Evans, Managing Director of Centrebus, comments: “We have used Omnibus software for some time and have been really pleased with it. The addition of OmniMAP will further improve our efficiencies and save our commercial team many man hours. By starting the process with accurate mapping we will streamline our systems and also be able to publish accurate data for passengers to our website.”
