Supplier and manufacturer of warehouse logistics systems SSI Schaefer has expanded its service by taking on an extra building.

Logistics Manager reports that this will house the company's IT department to improve information throughout the business' supply chain.

The new facility is in Northamptonshire, specifically based at Pury Hill near Towcester, where the company does a lot of its other work.

Jaap Vos, SSI Schaefer's UK managing director, said: "Our continued success in expanding our customer base has resulted in considerable growth across all business platforms and this is clearly reflected in our necessity to move into an additional building."

Mr Vos commented that it was going to be of a great benefit to the company to combine its solutions design team, project management and IT and support team.

Having all of these different sections of the business in the same place will aim to see drastic improvements in the speed and efficiency of SSI Schaefer's internal and external communication.
