bmi regional is delighted to announce the forthcoming launch of flights betweenNewcastle and Stavanger, Norway, which will take to the skies on 31 May, 2016 and will go on sale from 29 April, 2016.  The new route offers direct jet flights daily from Sunday to Friday from Newcastle to the major Norwegian city, which is both a major business destination due to the proximity of North Sea oil fields as well as a touristic base with a charming old town.

All passengers will enjoy a 20kg checked baggage allowance, complimentary in flight bar and snack service, speedy 30 minute check-in and allocated 2:1 seating, all of which come as standard with the business-powered airline, and are appreciated by discerning leisure travellers too.  Fares on the route will start at £78 one way or £139 return.

Commenting on the route launch, Jochen Schnadt, Chief Commercial Officer said: “We’re excited to be adding this route into our network and with it Stavanger as our latest addition to our growing network of key business locations.  Stavanger has a varied appeal; the city is a hub for the oil and gas industry, as well as being a former Capital of Culture with great gourmet credentials.  Our new Branded Fares including our new Executive product will be a perfect fit for this new market offering both business and leisure customers the right product and flexibility choice when travelling betweenNewcastle and Stavanger.”

Leif Anker Lorentzen, Airport Director of Sola Airport, Stavanger said: ““It's always nice to introduce routes that will drive additional business and leisure travellers into the region.  We work to ensure good and effective international connections, and aim to showcase our region that the endless possibilities it offers.  We are pleased with the possibilities airlines such as bmi regional provide for Stavanger Airport. This demonstrates a vast focus on the municipality of Rogaland, during challenging times for the industry in this region”
