As of yesterday (18th May), customers who use Transport for London (TfL) services are now able to use Android Pay on their mobile phones to travel around the city.
People will be able to use this method of payment on the Tube, buses and trams and on the majority of National Rail services throughout the capital.
Android Pay is a new app, developed by Google, that supports card payments from MasterCard and Visa credit and debit cards from most of the UK's major banks and building societies.
To use this app, customers simply download it from Google Play Store and set up their account with their bank card.
It works in a similar tap-in-tap-out format that people already use for their Oyster Cards, or other contactless payment methods.
Shashi Verma, chief technology officer and director of customer experience at TfL, said: "Android is a popular mobile operating system and we have been working closely with Google to ensure that Android Pay is fully incorporated into the Capital's transport network."
