Students from Blackhall Colliery Primary School took a trip on one of Arriva North East’s premium Sapphire buses to learn about the benefits of bus travel.

These premium buses offer passengers free WIFI, sockets to charge phones and tablets, audio visual next stop announcement, comfy e-leather seats and their very own dedicated team of specially trained Sapphire bus drivers. 

Arriva staff were on hand to demonstrate how to purchase a ticket and check bus times. The children then travelled in VIP style along the route and tried out the on-board features.

Kevin Poskett, depot manager of Arriva Durham said: “As a company we realise the importance of promoting the benefits of bus travel to students. Our Sapphire services offer passengers a new and improved experience, we hope to encourage more people to join us on board and change the perception of bus travel.
