Schiphol Cargo, the cargo department of Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, scooped the prize for Best Airport-Europe at last night’s Asian Freight, Logistics and Supply Chain (AFLAS) Awards.
The annual event, organised by Asia Cargo News, recognises best-in-class across the supply chain, with a focus on industry leadership, innovation, and service quality.
Over 15,000 readers and e-news subscribers of Asia Cargo News were invited to vote for the winners, and Schiphol took the European airport prize for the second year in a row.
“We are honoured that the Schiphol cargo community’s commitment to quality and innovation has been recognised in this way,” said Jonas van Stekelenburg, Head of Cargo, Schiphol.
“China is the most important cargo market for us, and as a major gateway for Europe, we are very proud to have such a strong endorsement from the Asian logistics industry.”
Air cargo influencers from across the globe attended the awards ceremony on the roof gardens of the Fairmont Peace Hotel in Shanghai yesterday.
The event took place during Air Cargo China, which the Schiphol Cargo team are attending to meet with customers.
Jonas van Stekelenburg will be taking part in a panel debate on Omni channel challenges for the airfreight industry at the conference tomorrow (16th June 2016).
