John West Foods has extended its stock movement deal with CEVA Logistics for another three years.
The new deal, which originally began in 2007, has already sparked a 25 per cent increase in throughput.
The contract renewal will see CEVA’s freight management team now take on additional responsibility for import and customs management including all port health documentation.
CEVA is also responsible for the outbound national distribution of palletised orders to UK retailers and wholesalers in 340 locations.
Last year, CEVA moved more than 33,000 tonnes of John West stock from containers arriving at the Port of Felixstowe to its Mendlesham site, 42 miles away.
Michael O’Donoghue, CEVA’s UK executive vice president, said: “Our long-standing relationship with this household name continues to grow and we are delighted that John West Foods has chosen to extend our partnership further.
“The customer has seen our drive for operational excellence in action and the CEVA team’s role has been expanded into new areas as we strive to make John West’s supply chain even more nimble and efficient.”
