Over 100 leading professionals from the Welsh transport, logistics and transport planning industry gathered in Cardiff last week for Wales National Transport and Logistics Awards organised by The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport Cymru Wales. These awards saw many of the best and brightest of Wales’ supply chain and transport professionals being recognised for their excellence.
The awards, established in 2002, continue to be recognised as a measure of excellence in logistics and transport practice within Wales. This year was no exception, with a strong shortlist drawn up from the entries.
Seven awards were announced during the event, with winners including First Great Western, Associated British Ports and Tata Steel, First Cymru Buses, Vale of Glamorgan Council, Carmarthenshire County Council and University of South Wales.
In addition, a special award was made to an individual who has made a major contribution to The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport Cymru Wales over a sustained period and, in doing so, has helped the Institute to raise its profile. The award this year was given to Steve Hodgetts, Cardiff International Airport, in particular for his contribution to the transport industry within Wales.
