Accessibility Statement

CILT(UK) is committed to making its website accessible and inclusive for as many people as possible.

This accessibility statement applies to the CILT(UK) website at https://ciltuk.org.uk/.

You should be able to:

•          change colours, contrast levels and fonts using your browser or device settings

•          zoom in without text spilling off the screen or losing functionality

•          navigate most of the website using just a keyboard or using speech recognition software

•          listen to most of the website using a screen reader, including the latest versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA for the core structure, templates and reusable components of this site.

Compliance status

This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA standard, because some legacy and third-party content does not yet fully meet the guidelines.

Non-accessible content

The content listed below is not fully accessible for the following reasons.

(a) Non-compliance with accessibility guidelines

Some content does not yet meet WCAG 2.2 AA success criteria, for example:

•          some older, legacy PDF and Office documents are not fully accessible to screen reader software

•          some historic pages and files that were carried over from previous versions of the site may not yet have been updated

We plan to improve these areas over time as we review, update or replace older content.

(b) Disproportionate burden

We are not currently claiming a formal "disproportionate burden" exemption, but some large archives of historic documents will take time to review and update. We will prioritise content that is most used and most important for accessing our services.

(c) Content not within scope

The following content is not fully accessible but is currently outside the scope of the regulations and guidelines we are working to:

•          office file formats (for example PDFs, Word documents) published before 23 September 2018 that are not essential to providing our services

•          documents and resources supplied by third parties that are not under our full control, including some embedded content

Where possible, we will provide accessible alternatives on request.

Preparation of this accessibility statement

This statement was prepared on 20 February 2026 and last reviewed on 4 March 2026.

The website was last tested in February 2026 by our website development partner, The MTM Agency, using a combination of automated tools and manual testing of representative page templates and user journeys.

Enforcement procedure

CILT(UK) is not a public sector body, so the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018 do not apply directly.

However, we take our responsibilities under the Equality Act 2010 seriously and are committed to making reasonable adjustments to ensure our services are accessible to disabled people.

If you have raised an accessibility issue with us and are unhappy with our response, you can seek advice about your rights from the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS).
