The Membership Representatives Group needs new members and you are invited to apply for this important and prestigious role.
The purpose of the MRG is to provide two-way interaction between the CILT Board and the membership, to communicate with the Board and members, to advise the Board on issues of interest to members and to obtain the views of the membership through participation in CILT activities, interaction with members, and initiating exercises to ascertain opinions.
We need representatives from across the membership, which means from the nations and regions, forums and interest groups. We should be representative of the membership, so we need members from all ages, career stages, grades and diversity. The role is fundamental to the governance of the Institute as it provides a direct link between the Board, who decide on the strategy and key aspects of the Institute’s activities, and the membership. You must be a MILT, CMILT or FCILT and you may be a senior member of the Institute who wants to give something back, you may be a member in the middle of your career who can provide direct and relevant current experience, or you may be a member in the early stages of your career with a desire to see change and look to the future and to enhance your CV. You are all wanted.
The process for selecting members for the MRG involves applying to the Nominations Committee. Your application should state your name, membership grade and number and then indicate which parts of the Institute you are interested in or involved with: nation or region, forum, policy group, interest group. It would also be helpful to know where you are working and what you are working on, and where you would like to go. If you have a current CV, that would also help. You should apply to Anna-Jane Hunter, Chair of the Nominations Committee, at enquiry@ciltuk.org.uk by 31 October 2024. Your application will be considered by the Nominations Committee and you will be notified if you have been successful. Successful candidates will be invited to the next meeting of the MRG on 12 December 2024.
This is a great opportunity to help build your Institute and at the same time enhance your status. Apply now!
