Vision 2035

What will the next 25 years hold, and what challenges and pressures will emerge to shape the way transport systems evolve? The CILT has attempted to examine the forces of change and develop a vision for 2035. Vision 2035 is a report on the future of logistics and transport in the UK.

Empowering staff: enabling passengers

When budgets are tight and cuts are on the agenda, training is very often an early casualty and dismissed as a luxury that cannot be afforded. CILT’s latest guidance note Empowering Staff: Enabling Passengers, demonstrates the significant business advantages to be gained from delivering accessible and inclusive transport services.

Vision 2035: UK Freight report

UK Freight Planning to 2035 examines the challenges facing the future growth of logistics capability of the UK.
The report has been drawn up by a team of senior transport and supply chain professionals, headed by Professor Alan Braithwaite FCILT, and makes the case that the importance of the UK’s freight infrastructure is of such magnitude that it requires strategic national direction.

The Case for HS2

The Case for HS2 argues there is a compelling case for the building of a new high speed North-South Line for rail to play its full part in supporting economic growth. However, it also calls for more work to be done in key areas to ensure that the benefits of the new line are maximised.

Standard for construction logistics: Managing work related road risk (WRRR)

CILT along with industry specialists have worked collaboratively in creating a single standard for construction logistics. Standard for construction logistics: Managing work related road risk (WRRR) provides the standard for both construction logistic operators and construction clients and sets out the requirements in relation to collision reporting, traffic routing, and safety equipment for vehicles, training for drivers and the control of traffic to and from a site, particularly during peak hours.
