The LRN is an informal network of academics, researchers, practitioners and other interested individuals working in the area of logistics, supply chain management and operations management. Its main objective is to facilitate the generation, promotion and dissemination of relevant research.


LRN will keep you abreast of the latest research in leading UK and worldwide universities. It provides an opportunity to contribute to the research and access the outputs.

CALL FOR PAPERS: International Journal of Computer Integrated Manufacturing

International Journal of Computer Integrated Manufacturing - Special Issue on Smart Cyber-Physical System Applications in Production and Logistics

Call for Papers


1. Authors are required to prepare their manuscripts according to the Guide for Authors available on the journal’s website at:  

http://www.tandfonline.com/action/authorSubmission?journalCode=tcim20&page= instructions  

Only papers describing previously unpublished, original, state-of-the-art research, and not currently under review by a conference or a journal will be considered. 

2. In the submission system, the authors need to indicate that the paper is for the special issue “Smart Cyber-Physical System Applications in Production and Logistics”. 

3. The title of the paper on the system should start with “Smart CPS” (an example title: Smart CPS Digital twins in logistics).

CALL FOR PROPOSAL: XXIII ELA Doctoral Workshop 2018, Naples, Italy


The Institute for Research on Innovation and Services for Development (IRISS) of the Italian National Research Council (CNR) will host the XXIII edition of the Doctoral Workshop of the European Logistics Association (ELA) from 27 to 30 June 2018.

20 PhD students from European universities carrying out their research project in the field of Logistics and Supply Chain Management will be selected. The workshop will be animated by prominent researchers, professor and practitioners including Gyöngyi Kovács (Erkko Professor in Humanitarian Logistics, HUMLOG Institute, Hanken, Finland) and Paolo Bisogni (President of the Italian Association of Logistics and Supply Chain Management - AILOG and the European Logistics Association - ELA).

There is no fee to attend the workshop and the sponsor, the Kuhne Foundation, will cover all expenses (excluding transport costs).

The nominated student is requested to prepare a three-page paper containing the stage of their doctorate research project (beginning, middle, end) and a brief description of the project (research objectives, methodology, expected results, list of references etc.) and submit the proposal before March 2nd 2018.

The 4th edition of "PROLOG" the International Conference on Project & Logistics is to be held at The Logistics Institute, University of Hull, UK, 28-29 June 2018.

The theme of the conference is Global Logistics Hubs and Big Systems and it will include special tracks on:

- Data Analytics 
- Healthcare Logistics 
- Low Carbon Systems and Renewable Energy
