Hoeft & Wessel AG was established in 1978 by the two entrepreneurs. Hoeft and Wessel are a German IT and Engineering Group supplying industry-specific solutions for retail and logistics, public transport and parking. Listed on the stock market since 1998, the company today is a medium-sized enterprise with sales revenues of around € 100 million and a workforce of 500 employees.

As one of Europe's largest manufacturers of mobile terminals, the Skeye division offers systems for retail and logistics as well as point-of-sale solutions, and is the market leader in Germany's retail sector. In Europe, the Almex division is among the leading providers of ticketing and telematics systems for public transport and check-in solutions for aviation companies. The British subsidiary Metric Parking is one of the largest suppliers of parking space management systems worldwide. In addition to the corporate headquarters in Hanover, there is also a major facility in Swindon, west of London, which is operated by the British subsidiary Metric.
