Yorkshire Tiger is pleased to announce that Matthew Ashton has been appointed area managing director. 

Matthew is the first person to come through the Arriva graduate programme and successfully make board position after he joined the general management graduate scheme in 2011. This fast-track programme aims to develop managers and provide them with an extensive understanding of the operational issues and needs within the bus industry. 

In his most recent role, Matthew has played a key part of the senior management team as head of commercial for Arriva Yorkshire, where he was responsible for maximising business growth and developing an innovative network of services.

Speaking of Matthew’s appointment, Nigel Featham, regional managing director commented: “I am delighted to welcome Matthew into his new position and it just shows how far our graduate programme can take you. It has been fantastic to see Matthew’s progression and I wish him every success in his new role.”
