A new low-floor minibus designed to improve accessibility for passengers with reduced mobility has been launched by British bus manufactures, Trek
a Bus.
The CitySprint range, built on the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter platform, features true single-step entry and a spacious low-floor area to enable smooth boarding for all passengers. The vehicles will be available in two models when deliveries begin in January 2026.
The CitySprint 7, measuring 7.4 metres, can accommodate up to 22 passengers plus one wheelchair space. The larger CitySprint 8 model extends to 8.1 metres and offers capacity for up to 26 passengers with two wheelchair spaces in the low-floor area a first for van conversions in the UK.
Both models meet Class A or Class 1 standards, with fully compliant gangway dimensions for safe movement throughout the vehicle. Standard features include LED destination displays, USB charging at every row, and air conditioning in both the cab and saloon areas.
Treka Sales Director Richard Matthews said: "The CitySprint has been developed by listening closely to our customers and understanding the challenges they face. Operators need vehicles that are accessible, reliable, and available without long delays."
The vehicles will be manufactured in Britain and come with a seven-year conversion warranty supported by Mercedes-Benz's three-year van warranty. Pricing starts from £115,000, with stock vehicles available from January 2026.
