WMG, University of Warwick

MSc Supply Chain and Logistics Management course at WMG, University of Warwick is designed for graduates who want to work within logistics and supply chain management across a variety of business sectors. It is an accredited course by the CILT (Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, UK).

As our global reach becomes increasingly important, there is a need and opportunity for organisations to connect together to deliver added-value to the consumer through interlinked supply chains and efficient logistics. The central content is the concept of a supply network: constructing the relationships that bring it into being; commissioning the technologies that enable it to operate; managing the input, the material and the information flow; and distributing the product. During the course you will develop the skills to evaluate, manage, and improve supply chain processes. You’ll learn to design and develop strategy, as well as understanding the operational functions of businesses.

The University of Warwick uses the Credit Accumulated and Transfer Scheme (CATS) to express credit weighing for each unit of learning. Master’s courses in the UK equal 180 CATS (Credit Accumulated and Transfer Scheme) that is nominally 1800 hours of learning.

Your MSc course is made of two major components: 8 taught course modules (each 15 CATS) and their associated assessments amounting to 120 CATS in total and a major research project accounting for the remaining 60 CATS.

A 15 CAT module is nominally 150 hours of learning (to include pre work, module attendance both in person and online, and completing assessments)

Module delivery patterns vary; many will have an intensive full week block of teaching 9am-6.30 which can include both in-person and online sessions (exact times will vary) with additional prep, reading or exercises in the surrounding days, some will run over 2 or more weeks with shorter formal sessions with the independent prep, reading and exercises fitting in alongside. Some modules separate ‘lecture’ sessions so the seminar classes may take place a number of weeks after the lecture.

Over the past 20 years, our course has produced thousands of successful graduates all over the world. Many of them have now proudly become business leaders in global supply chains and play a pivotal role in the relevant industries.
