Membership Application Policy

Introduction

At CILT(UK), we uphold the highest standards of honesty and professionalism.

As per the CILT(UK) Bye Laws 2024 “Applications shall be signed as truthful and correct by the applicant and commit the individual to compliance with the Bye-Laws and Code of Conduct of the Institute upon admission.”

This policy ensures that all information provided by those applying for membership is accurate, truthful, and transparent.

Accuracy of Information

Applicants must provide complete and correct details in their application, including job titles, dates of employment and qualifications. Supplying false or misleading information, intentionally or otherwise, may result in refusal or withdrawal of membership in line with our Code of Conduct.

Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI)

Applicants may use AI or other writing tools to assist with grammar, spelling, and the overall literary quality of their application. However, these tools must not be used to create, exaggerate, or misrepresent any experience, achievements, or qualifications.

All submitted information must reflect the applicant’s own work and CILT(UK) may take reasonable steps to verify authenticity.

Changes After Initial Submission

Any amendments to job titles, employment dates, or qualifications must be clearly explained and supported by evidence where appropriate. CILT(UK) reserves the right to query any unexplained changes. If the explanation provided is not considered satisfactory, the application will either be assessed based on the original submission or may be declined.

Verification

CILT(UK) may undertake reasonable steps to verify all information provided. Discrepancies may delay or affect the outcome of the application.

Upholding Our Standards

We expect all applicants to provide information which is accurate and true. Deliberate falsification or misrepresentation may result in:

  • Rejection of the application

  • Withdrawal of membership

By submitting an application, the applicant confirms that all information provided is accurate and that they agree to comply with this policy.
