CILT(UK)'s Mentoring Programme has been developed to support members in their CPD activities regardless of membership grade, age or work status. Use our programme to:

Share your expertise as a mentor, guide others’ career journeys, and gain insights to strengthen your own professional development.
Mentees are expected to drive the relationship and come into the programme with a clear goal about how they want to professionally develop.

Who is the Mentoring Programme for?
Anyone who is looking for support in career development can sign up for mentoring. Equally, we are also looking for mentors who are willing to share their experience to help others with their development.
How does the Mentoring Programme work?
The sign up process is the same for both mentors and mentees. CILT(UK) Members should firstly ensure they're logged into MyCILT. Once logged in, sign up for an account on our PLD platform and remember to create a profile. From your account, mentees can search for a mentor and ask prospective mentors a question. Mentors can receive meeting requests and accept or decline. Once a mentor has accepted a request, you can arrange your first meeting, define goals and keep track of progress.
Why do I need a mentor?
Knowing your strengths and areas where you need improvement and the general direction you would like to take are key elements to success. This is where a mentor can help.
How do I get the most from mentoring?
To find the perfect mentor, you need to be clear about your career goals and aspirations, your strengths and challenges, and the skill sets, behaviours, or even work styles you’d like to develop.
Can I be a mentor?
Yes! As long as you hold CILT(UK) Member Grade and above (MILT, CMILT, FCILT), then you're eligible to become a mentor. Remember the role of mentor isn’t to have all of the answers. It is to be able to share your knowledge, perspective and experience and to work with the mentee and to act as a sounding-board to their ideas and proposed solutions.
