A Piece of History - CILT Charter

The Royal Charter granted in 1926 was a major milestone because it gave CILT formal recognition as a professional body and strengthened its authority across the transport and logistics sector. It also marked the point at which the Institute’s founding aim, to promote and develop the science and art of transport, was backed by royal status and a clearer public purpose.
