A visit to Arriva Midlands in Tamworth - the oldest operational former 'Midland Red' bus depot.
This event will be vetted, and light refreshments will be provided, please advise of any dietary requirements.
An introductory talk will cover the history of bus operations in Tamworth, from the opening of the depot in 1928 through nationalisation, deregulation, privatisation, to becoming part of one of the largest passenger transport operators in Europe.
A guided tour of the depot will include opportunity to see c£2.5m investment in brand new vehicles prior to entering service (subject to on-time delivery from the OEM) and understand the works required to accommodate electric vehicles entering service from late 2026.
