CILT (UK) Transport, Logistics & the Green Transition: A Skills Focus Group
Hosts:
Chloe Barratt, Project Manager and Green Lead, Business West Chambers of Commerce
Lauren Holmes, LSIP Engagement Manager, Business West Chambers of Commerce
Join Business West and the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) for this free focus group taking place as part of Big Green Week 2026, and help shape the future of sustainable transport and logistics across the South West.
This is your opportunity to contribute to the Business West Local Skills Improvement Plan (LSIP) - a UK Government-funded research project working to ensure that post-16 technical education and training better align with business needs.
The transport and logistics sector is navigating a significant period of change. From the transition to alternative fuels and the rise of AI-driven supply chain optimisation, to evolving job roles and growing expectations around sustainability, businesses across the region are facing new and complex skills challenges. This event will bring together sector professionals to discuss what those challenges look like on the ground, and what needs to happen to better support the sector.
The session will open with a short presentation from the Business West LSIP team, sharing an overview of the research they are leading before going into a facilitated group discussion.
This event is open to anyone working in the transport and logistics sector across the West of England and North Somerset or Somerset area. If you have an interest in or direct experience in helping the sector become more sustainable, we want to hear from you.
Places are limited to ensure a productive discussion, so early registration is encouraged. The delegate list will be vetted.
