Bus and Coach Policy
The Bus & Coach Policy Group focuses on the strategic and operational issues affecting bus and coach services across the UK, from network planning and funding to accessibility, safety and customer experience. Working closely with the CILT(UK) Bus & Coach Forum and initiatives such as BusMark, the group uses member insight to highlight challenges and champion practical, passenger‑focused solutions for both urban and rural networks.
Its aims include:
Helping national and local government develop sustainable, reliable and inclusive bus and coach policy, including support for rural mobility and levelling up.
Promoting best practice in areas such as decarbonisation, safety, accessibility, workforce skills and data‑driven planning.
Providing expert input to consultations, inquiries and policy reviews so that the voice of operators, authorities and passengers is heard in decision‑making.
