Environment Policy
The Environment Policy Group concentrates on the environmental impacts of logistics and transport, supporting CILT(UK)’s wider “Route to Zero” ambition to help the profession cut emissions and meet the UK’s net‑zero targets. The group brings together specialists from freight, passenger transport, infrastructure and planning to explore how policy, technology and behaviour change can reduce carbon, improve air quality and enable more sustainable networks.
Its aims include:
Advising government and regulators on planning, energy and transport policies that accelerate low‑ and zero‑emission solutions, from EV infrastructure to sustainable fuels and active travel.
Helping organisations understand environmental risks and opportunities, and sharing examples of practical decarbonisation, resource efficiency and climate‑resilient operations.
Ensuring environmental considerations are embedded across CILT(UK)’s policy work so that freight and passenger strategies support both economic performance and long‑term sustainability.
