Rural Policy

The Rural Policy Group’s purpose, alongside other CILT Policy Groups, is to investigate current issues affecting the rural community across all modes and all sectors and make representations to appropriate agencies e.g., central Government, local authorities, trade organisations and others on behalf of CILT on this subject.

How our Rural Policy Group works

The Rural Policy Group’s purpose is to address issues affecting rural communities across all modes and sectors, and to represent CILT(UK) to relevant bodies such as government, local authorities, and trade organizations.

Working alongside other CILT(UK) Policy Groups and Forums - particularly Bus and Coach, Freight and Logistics, and Accessibility and Inclusion - it provides impartial, informed views on policy matters. Its role is twofold: to deliver technical guidance and thought leadership for CILT(UK) members, and to offer public policy advice.

As with the other Policy Groups, the committee, made up of a diverse range of volunteer professionals meets online quarterly and responds to consultations throughout the year, as well as publishing articles in Focus.
