DWP research: Exploring entry-level roles and progression opportunities in the logistics sector

Projects & PeopleSkills & EducationLogistics & Supply ChainNews

IFF Research, on behalf of the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) are conducting research into what entry-level job roles may be suitable for individuals currently in roles with no/limited progression opportunities and those on Universal Credit (UC), and what the career progression pathways look like for these roles, within the logistics sector.

They are looking for individuals who can talk about hiring and progression (e.g. HR professionals, bosses of SMEs) who work for Logistics employers offering these kinds of roles to take part in a 60-minute interview over Zoom.

Employers will receive a £75 ‘thank you’ payment, in the form of a voucher or a charity donation, for taking part.

The interview would cover:

  • What relevant job roles your organisation offers and how these may be suitable for individuals with no/limited progression opportunities and people on UC.

  • How someone might enter these job roles, and what their progression might look like.

  • What support DWP or JobCentrePlus (JCP) could provide to employers like yourself to support individuals with no/limited progression opportunities and people on UC to enter and progress within these roles.

The findings from the research will be used to help the DWP and Jobcentre Plus (JCP) to better assist individuals with limited/no progression opportunities and/or people on UC to enter roles and progress in the logistics sector.

Interviews will take place between the 27th of January and 16th February. If you are interested in participating, please contact iffprogressionpathways@iffresearch.com and confirm the best number to call, so they can discuss the interview with you in more detail.
