CILT(UK) is pleased to welcome Fliss O’Hara FCILT and Lee White FCILT to its Board, following their election to the roles.

Both bring extensive experience from across the transport, logistics and wider business landscape, alongside a strong commitment to the Institute and its role in supporting professionals, sharing knowledge and raising the profile of the sector.

Their appointments strengthen the breadth of experience represented on the CILT(UK) Board and support the Institute's ongoing work to champion the profession, develop future talent, share knowledge and increase its influence across the sector.

Lee White is a long-standing CILT (UK) member whose career spans bus and coach operations, local government, consultancy, transport planning and infrastructure development. He has held a variety of operational and commercial roles before moving into local government, where he managed a portfolio of major transport projects and served as Head of Transport.

Lee originally joined the Institute to access its education choices. He has since become an active CILT (UK) volunteer, serving on a regional committee and currently contributing to the Bus and Coach Forum, Public Policies Committee and as Chair of the Bus and Coach Policy Group.

Today, Lee works across bus and rail, infrastructure development and transport planning, with a focus on projects that influence transport behaviours and help shape policy. Lee decided to stand for the CILT(UK) Board as an opportunity to give something back to the Institute and contribute to its future development.

Lee explained: “I have seen a change in how the Institute operates and firmly believe we need to strengthen the education offering and grow our influence. Hopefully, I can add value in these areas whilst also bringing experience of board level activity from my role at the Chamber of Commerce. By joining the Board I hope I can widen everyone interest in our work and promote our education offer.”

Felicity O’Hara, known as Fliss, began her career in the aerospace industry, where she became CIMA qualified, before moving into logistics following the events that impacted the aerospace sector in 2001.

She subsequently moved into commercial leadership, where she established a full Business Development function and developed vast experience in customer relations – supporting tendering and business growth. Fliss joined Whistl in April 2023 as Commercial Director, before being promoted to Managing Director of Fulfilment in September 2024. She joined the Executive Board in January 2025.

Fliss hopes to bring practical experience from within a logistics business, alongside her expertise in financial leadership, governance and strategic decision-making.

She explained: “I believe strong governance and financial discipline create the foundations for growth. My aim on the Board would be to bring practical industry experience, balancing strategic ambition with the realities faced by businesses and professionals across the logistics sector every day.”

Together, Fliss and Lee bring complementary perspectives from across logistics, transport operations, commercial leadership, local government, consultancy, governance and professional development.

Helen Hardy, CILT (UK) CEO, added: “We are thrilled to welcome Fliss and Lee to the Board. Both bring vast amounts experience and insight from across the transport and logistics profession - but most importantly I am excited about their passion and commitment in supporting our members and strengthening our sector.

“I’m also confident they will help us as we continue to deliver greater value for our members – ensuring we work towards our long-term goal of professionalising the profession. They are joining at a fascinating time for the institute, and I look forward to collaborating with them.”
