CILT (UK) welcomes Steve Cross as CILT International VP and Trustee

CILT (UK) is pleased to announce fellow and long-standing member, Steve Cross FCILT CEng, has been appointed International Vice President and Trustee of CILT International. He currently serves as a Trustee and Board Member of CILT (UK), alongside his new international responsibilities with CILT International.

With over 30 years as a member and almost two decades as a Fellow, Steve brings with him a broad range experience across transport, logistics, technology, entrepreneurship and business leadership to his new international role.

A Chartered Engineer and Chartered Logistician, Steve has built his career on the back of technology and transport - developing software solutions and supporting complex operations. His experience includes global freight management platforms and automated systems, including processing millions of UK customs declarations each month.

Steve co-founded a regional bus operator with his son Geoff which grew to become the third-largest bus company in the West Midlands. He also established a leading UK provider of AI-driven vehicle and driver safety systems. Alongside his commercial interests, Steve has held board and governance roles with housing and community organisations in Birmingham.

Steve explained: “CILT (UK) has been central to my professional growth and carrier.  And has played an important role to play in establishing and supporting global standards. As an international organisation our strength lies in nurturing communities where professionals can guide the next generation and build lasting networks. Members are our prime stakeholders, and I want to ensure we deliver real value while listening to members – all of which is essential to our future.”

CILT (UK) CEO, Helen Hardy, recently met with Steve at the CILT International Conference in Hong Kong, where they discussed his new role and future plans.

Helen added: “Firstly, I would like to congratulate Steve on his appointment. Having worked alongside, through our board responsibilities, I have seen first-hand his commitment to the profession and the value he brings. It was a pleasure to discuss his new role and future plans recently. His breadth of experience and deep understanding of our community will be a tremendous asset as we continue to strengthen our international network.”

Steve’s appointment further reinforces the connection between CILT (UK) and CILT International - creating opportunities for members to build a connected with global community across transport and logistics.
