CILT(UK) Women in Supply Chain & Transport Event Celebrates Impact, Inspiration and Industry Action
The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (UK) (CILT(UK)) has successfully delivered its first Women in Supply Chain & Transport event today (5th March), bringing together leaders and emerging talent from across the profession for a powerful day of insight, connection and collective action.
Held at CEVA Logistics in the East Midlands and aligned with International Women’s Day, the event welcomed a strong cross-section of professionals from logistics, transport and supply chain organisations nationwide. Under the theme Pathways & Progress, the programme explored career development, inclusive leadership, organisational best practice and the tangible steps needed to accelerate gender equity across the sector.
The day opened with a welcome from CILT(UK) CEO Helen Hardy, who reinforced the Institute’s commitment to creating inclusive career pathways and supporting long-term change. A series of keynote addresses, spotlight sessions and panel discussions followed, featuring senior leaders from major brands and fast-growing businesses, who shared candid reflections on navigating barriers, building confidence and driving transformation within their organisations.
Highlights included discussions on inclusive recruitment practices, strategies for overcoming imposter syndrome, change-proof leadership in a reactive world, and case studies from organisations leading measurable gender diversity initiatives. Speakers shared practical frameworks and personal experiences, ensuring conversations moved beyond theory to actionable insight.

Closing the event, Erin Meehan, Head of Partnerships at CILT(UK), reflected on the energy and engagement in the room and emphasised the importance of sustained collaboration: “What stood out today was the honesty, generosity and determination of this community. This wasn’t simply a conversation about representation - it was about progression, visibility and creating environments where talent can truly thrive. The momentum we’ve seen here must continue beyond today.”
CILT(UK), CEO, Helen Hardy, added: “The strength of attendance and the calibre of discussion demonstrate that our profession is ready to lead with intent. By sharing lived experience, championing inclusive leadership and committing to practical change, we are building a stronger, more resilient future for supply chain and transport.”
Attendees described the event as energising, relevant and solutions-focused, with networking sessions providing valuable opportunities to build new partnerships and peer support networks. The programme also contributed 3.5 experiential CPD hours, reinforcing CILT(UK)’s focus on professional development and continuous learning.
The Women in Supply Chain & Transport event marks an important milestone in CILT(UK)’s ongoing work to support diversity, equity and inclusion across the profession. Building on the success of the day, the Institute will continue to provide platforms, communities and development opportunities that empower individuals and organisations alike.
