GXO Logistics, a leading global provider of healthcare logistics solutions, have been chosen by NHS England (NHSE) to manage the supply and distribution of bowel cancer home testing kits for their national screening programme.
According to their agreement, GXO will act as a managed service provider for the Faecal Immunochemical Test (FIT) programme, overseeing the delivery of FIT kits to eligible people across the country. This is a next step up in the relationship between GXO and the NHS, following their appointment by the NHS Supply Chain in 2015.

The screening programme aims to increase the levels of early detection of bowel cancer across the UK by allowing patients to test themselves at home. This will reduce the rising pressures on hospitals across the country and improve accessibility for service users. Diagnostic test providers, Mast Group and RDi, will be working alongside GXO to provide diagnostic and testing capabilities, supporting laboratory workflows and patient participation in the programme.
As part of GXO UK & Ireland’s announcement, their managing director Gavin Williams explained that GXO’s solutions are purpose-built for the complex needs of healthcare supply chains, therefore they are proud to be selected by NHSE to support the delivery of this vital screening programme.
