Speaker: George Fenton MILT, Chairman, Humanitarian Logistics Association
Presentation on Logistics as the backbone of humanitarian operations – the effectiveness of emergency response is directly proportional to the preparedness of humanitarian logistics teams. ‘Last mile’ aid deliveries must be flexible as it’s difficult to predict when or where disasters will strike. Business people are among the first to respond; they act directly in humanitarian contexts or indirectly through supply chains. They can work independently, directly with people in crisis or by collaborating with humanitarian organisations. What does the future hold?George Fenton MILT is Chairman and Director of the Humanitarian Logistics Association and an Independent adviser in the field with extensive experience of launching and managing humanitarian logistics operations across the globe. The Humanitarian Logistics Association invites donations to help fund its work, please visit their website at: humanitarianlogistics.org
