We are delighted to announce that our next Hull & East Yorkshire Local Skills Improvement Plan (HEY LSIP) Forum will take place on Monday 20 April at the Hull Guildhall in the magnificent Reception Room. There are a number of car parks nearby and the Guildhall is only about a 15 minute walk from Hull Paragon Interchange.
The event will begin at 10:00am followed by a buffet lunch at 1:00pm. Please arrive from 9:30am, when coffees and teas will be available.
On this occasion we will be covering a few topics and further details will be shared in the coming days, but to summarise:
We will be hearing from Humber and Hull prisons, and the incredible work they do to prepare prisoners for release, ensuring they have the right skills that employers need. A key part of the success to this, is this is the collaborative relationship with local businesses.
The Hull City Council Employment Hub (based in Hull Central Library) will talk about their amazing scope of work, supporting people to find work, matching skills to opportunities; and how they successfully work with some of the region’s largest employers as well as thousands of small businesses.
There will also be a focus on the Logistics sector, and how this region, championed by the Humber Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) working closely with the University of Hull, is networked to ensure growth and investment in our transport, ports and shipping industries.
We will be providing an update on our progress with HEY LSIP 2.0 and share our plans and objectives for the coming year.
We hope you are able to join us on the day and be an important part of the conversations.
