Freight & Logistics Policy

The group investigates issues affecting integrated policy and practice in supply chains and promotes best practice and resilient capability. The Freight and Logistics Policy Group also aims to produce technical guidance and thought leadership for CILT members.

How our Freight and Logistics Policy Group works

The Freight and Logistics Policy Group reviews current and proposed policies that impact the sector and provides, where appropriate, expert advice to government. Members are independent but have a wide variety of experiences; some work in operations and for industry groups, others in consultancy for both industry and the public sector, or in academia, educating the future logistics professionals. We tackle international, national and local issues, across all freight modes.

The Group meet approximately 6 times a year, but we respond to consultations and other events throughout the year. With greater devolution we’re keen to fill some regional gaps and would welcome new members with current operational experience.
