Argos has become the first retailer to receive complaints about failing to complete deliveries of Black Friday orders in time.
This comes in light of a record-breaking Black Friday weekend this year, with the latest data from IMRG and Experian revealing that a total of £3.3 billion was spent online over the four-day weekend from November 27th to 30th.
However, retail consultants have also warned that around ten per cent of these parcels will not be delivered on time.
Argos issued a statement on its Facebook page apologising to its customers for delays in contacting customer services to resolve the issue.
"Our Black Friday event and new Fast Track delivery service have been hugely popular and are keeping the team really busy; we have added extra staff and they are working through [communications] as fast as possible," the firm stated.
